Pain Management and Control

We know the issue of pain management is of great concern to pet owners today.

As in human medicine, we have a variety of medications available to manage your pet’s pain both before and after surgery. Every pet undergoing a surgical procedure is given an injection of pain medication before surgery. The level of pain is assessed following surgery and any needed medications are given during recovery. Appropriate medications will be sent home with the pet if our veterinarians feel they are necessary.

We also know that pets can have pain unrelated to surgery. Trauma, injury and age-related conditions can cause short-term or long-term pain issues. Rest assured that we will work with you to minimize the level of pain your pet has, and we would be pleased to discuss the options available to keep your pet as comfortable as possible.
